About Preparedpak

Preparedpak is a pioneer in the field of providing emergency preparedness kits in the U.S. designed for virtually every family at affordable prices. Having grown up in earthquake country (Los Angeles) and having experienced the personal losses by friends and family as a result of Hurricane Katrina, 11-year old Austin Sherman, recognized the lack of available comprehensive, prepackaged emergency preparedness kits in America's earthquake capital. He was surprised by how much effort and expense it took his parents to put together emergency supplies and a plan so that the family was ready for various natural disaster and potential terrorist incidents. He researched the various suppliers offering up emergency materials to find food and water that would store safely and survive extreme temperature changes, shelter, first aid, lights, radios and sanitation supplies. As a child largely powerless in the face of such overwhelming forces, he wanted to take action and find a way to create and make available simple and affordable supplies critical to people of all ages in a dangerous world.

Austin turned to his parents for help. He drew on his Father's entrepreneurial experience to help him set up the company and infrastructure required to purchase, assemble and ship the various preparedness products. With his Mother's assistance he crafted the product strategy and plan to offer individual paks for the home, adults, children, infants and the car. Aside from offering the various Pak’s to consumers, non-profit and business organizations, Austin has had discussions with a representative from the department of Health and Human Services (HHS) of the U.S. Government in which he suggested that the government adopt a plan to stockpile Preparedpaks for mobilization in 4 – 8 hours upon the occurrence of a national emergency like 9/11, Katrina or any upcoming disaster.

Finally, recognizing that the need for Preparedpaks emanates from disasters like Katrina and 9/11, the profits generated by the sale of Preparedpaks are being donated to Hope Village for Children, a children's home in Meridian, Mississippi that is caring for children displaced by Katrina.

Preparedpak Kits

Preparedpak kits contain only the highest quality emergency supply products. Each kit comes with a 5 year shelf-life, 3 day supply per person of emergency food and water. Selected Preparedpaks also feature emergency lights, radios, shelter, first aid, sanitation, search/rescue supplies and other vital sources.
